Along with the process of re-registration of prepaid SIM cards held by the government along with cellular operators, there are some obstacles that arise in the community.
For example, there are cases of Population Identification Number (NIK) and Family Card Number (KK) apparently used by others to register prepaid cards that are not owned by the owner of NIK and KK.
Then there are also customer registration restrictions, a maximum of three numbers from the same mobile carrier for one pair of NIK and KK numbers. Customers can register more than three numbers, but must go to the respective mobile operator's stores. Deputy Director of Hutchinson Tri Indonesia M Danny Buldansyah said the government and mobile operators actually provide a way to overcome the above obstacles, among others by checking the status of registration number.
There is also an "unreg" facility to cancel the registration of one of the registered cards if the customer wishes to register a new number while the maximum number of three numbers has been reached.
"The important thing is, the active number is not more than three. If the unreg, the card will not be used again," said Danny told reporters at the Hutchinson Tri office in Jakarta.
He added that the recording of the history of card usage remains after registration is canceled by the customer. This is intended to suppress the number of abuse cards, such as the spread of spam SMS.
