Some smartphone vendors dare to slam the price to gain a high sales figures. For example, Xiaomi or Asus, which can even sell the phone with high specifications, but with a fairly low price. By seeing this trend, Samsung did not want to get a headache and go with the price.
The reason according to Denny Galant, head of Product Marketing IM Samsung Indonesia, buying a phone does not only mean comparing components, but there are other things that can add value.
"I'm sure that consumers can ultimately differentiate, not just the size of the battery or the RAM, but there are many more things that bring comfort," said Denny at the launch of Galaxy J7 Duo in Thamrin, Jakarta.
"It is expensive or not relative, in terms of what, if on the part of Samsung services, more value, such as the Signalmax function. We do not think competitors have a cheaper price, what we think is how we consumers better, "he continued.
He added that Samsung is more concerned about the user experience than to reduce the price. In addition, the South Korean company also boasted so far Samsung is still the most important consumer choice in Indonesia.
"So far we are still leading, Samsung handset is still the most chosen, so the consumer in Indonesia, we are back to what the consumer wants," Denny said.
Map of Indonesian mobile competition is demonstrably tight, especially when it comes to price tags. A number of suppliers of mobile phones dare to give cheap prices with the specifications of the middle class to achieve large sales figures. Heat competition on the mobile phone market in the country is also not without reason.
At least in time, some sellers have launched their latest product some time ago. The latest news is that Xiaomi and Asus Redmi Note 5 and Zenfone Max Pro M1 dare to sell with prices starting at Rp 2 million. With a fairly low price, both brands can present a fairly high specification on the phone.
Interestingly, all the suppliers mentioned above focus on similar segments. Then the price and specifications of mobile phones that were launched were comparable. This is the cause of the fierce price competition on the Indonesian mobile market.***
