Prabowosandi.id's domain was sold for Rp. 1 billion

AFTER Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno were declared presidential and vice presidential candidates, the domain names Prabowosandi.com and Prabowosandi.id appeared.

Chairman of the Manager of the Indonesian Internet Domain Name (PANDI), Andi Budimansyah did not deny that the Prabowosandi.id domain was legitimate. This means that legally, the domain has been owned by someone else.

"By registration, the prabowosandi.id domain is valid," he explained to Merdeka.com via text message on Sunday (12/8).

According to him, the domain has been registered on August 9, 2018. Meanwhile, with regard to the price that is priced at billions of rupiah, in the end the market mechanism will determine.

From the PANDI registrar itself, the domain price is only around Rp 275,000 per year. However, when it has been obtained and resold, the price is determined by the registrant.

"So there are people who register, then resell," he said.

Furthermore, he said, referring to the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE Law) there are 3 things the principle of domain name registration. The first principle is the first registrant. Second, not to harm other people and third, not to violate the principle of business competition.

"My advice to the public or businessmen, if there is an idea / idea to make a particular product or service name, also register the domain name before it is submitted to the public," he said.

Then, who registered the domain? Andi is reluctant to reveal who is behind the domain name buyer. According to him, it has entered into a person's personal identity and has been regulated in the PANDI policy. The policy also complies with the rules of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
