Annual report Symantec may be delayed due to investigation
Symantec reported on Thursday that its financial results and forecasts could change based on the results of an internal investigation that began after the question of a former employee was raised.
The company's shares, which makes Norton Antivirus, fell 13.3 percent to $ 25.30 with extended trading.
The company said that the audit committee of the board of directors of Symantec retained an independent lawyer and other consultants for its investigation.
According to Symantec, the investigation is in its infancy and is unlikely to be finally brought to the attention of the annual report on time.
The company contacted the Securities and Exchange Commission and plans to provide the SEC with additional information on the progress of the investigation.

The forecast for Symantec's profit for the whole year, from 1.50 to 1.65 dollars per share, is also lower than the estimate of $ 1.80.
In the fourth quarter ended March 30, the net loss was $ 35 million, or 6 cents per share, compared to $ 143 million, or 23 cents per share, a year ago.
Revenues increased by 10% to $ 1.22 billion.
