Every update of an iOS app must support the iPhone X until July
Apple states that iOS developers can not update their apps without taking into account the iPhone X.
Starting in July, iOS developers can only update their apps if they work well with the iPhone X score.
Apple released the following statement on the developer's page on Monday:
"Starting July 2018, all iOS app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 11 SDK and must support the Super Retina display of iPhone X."
This is good news for iPhone X owners, who now have more apps that support the toothed screen of their phone.
It also provides support for future Notch iPhones that would be Apple according to rumors. Apple has previously made the same request for all new apps that have been sent to the App Store.
However, this new statement also requires that the app updates meet the requirements. As a result, app developers must ensure that their apps support the hack before publishing updates.
If apps do not meet these criteria, they may never be updated. Apple did not respond immediately to a request for a comment.
