Apple founded the Developer Academy in Indonesia

US technology company, Apple Inc., today inaugurated the  Apple Developer Academy  in the area of ​​Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), Tangerang District, Banten Province, Indonesia.

Apple Developer Academy is one of the realization of Apple's investment promise in Indonesia. It should be underlined that Indonesia is the first country in Asia to have this academy, and is the third in the world after Brazil and Italy.

Apple's Vice President for the Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson said Apple built the academy to help developers build iOS apps and join an application-based economy.

"This is an unlimited opportunity for people of all ages in Indonesia to create new applications that can be enjoyed around the world," he said at Apple Developer Academy on Monday, May 7, 2018.

The introduction of Apple Developer Academy was attended by Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara.

For the initial stage, Apple Developer Academy in collaboration with Bina Nusantara University. However, later this opportunity will be open to everyone and free of charge.

Hartarto appreciated the application developer center which is part of Apple's investment commitment worth US $ 44 million. He hopes that academic graduates can contribute to the application industry, let alone patents of students will be granted on their own behalf.

"For us these graduates are able to create programs within Apple's ecosystem," Hartarto said.

He also said the academy is also in line with the government's Techno Center program in various cities. Hartarto added that besides the Developer Academy in BSD, there will be two similar development centers in Java and outside Java Island but not yet certain where in the city.

"In 3 years this will be built 3 academy," he said.
