ACCORDING to The Verge, Microsoft will begin selling its USB-C Surface Key for $ 79.99 to enterprise customers earlier this week. It is unclear how consumers will get it, but the adapter will be sold later through the Microsoft Store or an authorized reseller.

Unlike Surface Book 2, "Surface Connections to USB-C Adapters" is designed for Microsoft's latest Surface Pro and Surface Laptop devices that do not have a USB-C port.

When a key is connected to a surface device through the surface connector charge port, the user can connect a USB-C peripheral or docking solution through the USB-C key port.

It also supports USB-C charging. Specifications require an external power supply of at least 27W and 12V for both surface devices and external displays.
