Asus targets the global education market by launching Chromebooks and Chrome tablets before CES's presence in 2019.
Asus, among others, will introduce a new Chromebook in addition to the first Asus Chrome OS tablet, where all products are aimed at the use of classroom education.
According to Asus, the launch of the Chromebook Education series was designed to provide "a lightweight and rugged Chrome OS computer solution" for consumers in the education industry.
"This series includes two traditional notebooks: an ASUS 11.6-inch Chromebook C204 and an ASUS 14-inch C403 Chromebook and an ASUS 14-inch C214 convertible Chromebook," said Asus.
In addition, the company explained that it also introduced a new form factor, with the ASUS Chromebook Tablet CT100, an impressive 9.7-inch QXGA touchscreen tablet and wide-angle. "
Among the features inherent in the new series of products, the company's announcement continues, focused on durability, with spill-proof and tamper-proof keyboards and a full rubber damper. Availability is only explained in general ("coming months") with details about the configuration and prices coming soon.
Here's a deeper insight into each device:
Tablet with Chromebook CT100
The company will use the version of Chrome OS that is the same version available on laptops and desktops that children will find when they grow up. The rubber chassis has a thickness of less than 10 mm, which makes it easy to hold small hands. And if a young user releases it, the tablet should contain crashes of most tables and tables.
The strong tempered glass covers the 9.7-inch QXGA screen and the pen is also included. Inside, you have a Hexa-core OP1 processor and 4GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage, a 35-watt lithium polymer battery lasts all day long and you can use a USB Type C connection to charge when needed.
Chromebook C204
As a tablet, this basic 11.6-inch screen device features a rubber chassis with thick protectors and is also resistant to minor drops. (Asus waits for the rubber rails to rise at the bottom for easier maintenance, let alone to fall in the first place).
Meanwhile, there is an anti-reflective coating on the screen, and it is reported that the hinges have been tested in 50,000 opening and closing cycles, which means they can not be released soon. It also comes with an Intel Celeron dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of integrated storage, one USB Type A port and two reversible Type C USB ports. In addition, it features a microSD card slot and a combo audio connector, as well as an HD webcam and a 50Wh battery that last all day.
Chromebook Flip C214
As for the other two products announced, the Flip C214 Chromebook is a dual-core Intel Celeron 2-in-1 device and up to 64 GB of internal storage that can be expanded through the microSD. There are USB-C ports on both sides as well as USB-A connectivity options and audio connectors. The 11.6-inch screen also includes 360-degree hinges and there is also an option to include the stylus.
Chromebook C403
Finally, the C403 is described in some circles, basically only in the larger version of C204. This has a 14-inch screen with 180-degree hinges, almost identical specifications and a range of 11 hours
